My Experience at the APA Expo: Finding Clarity, Connection, and Confidence

Stepping into the APA (Awards and Personalization Association) Expo in Las Vegas, one question kept running through my mind: “Why am I here? Did I make the right decision to be here?”

As a small business owner still defining Perry Design’s direction, I knew this event could provide insight, but I had no idea just how impactful it would be. Looking back, I can say with complete confidence, I absolutely made the right decision.

Finding Our Place in the Industry

Before attending the expo, I had an open mind about where Perry Design should focus within the awards and personalization industry. There are so many creative directions to take, and I wanted to find the right niche, one that not only excites me but truly aligns with my vision for this company.

The moment of clarity came during Connaly’s seminar, “Why the Awards Industry?” It was exactly what I needed to hear. Her insights helped solidify our path forward, giving me confidence in our business direction. Mrs. Connaly, thank you.

Unforgettable Connections

One of the most rewarding aspects of the APA Expo was the people. I met so many incredible industry professionals, creatives, and business owners, too many to single out. The energy in the room was inspiring, filled with individuals who are not just running businesses but shaping the future of this industry.

From networking with Ikonics Imaging, JDS, LogoJet, and Pujiang Jade Vertu Crystal to soaking in wisdom from experienced entrepreneurs, every interaction left me with valuable insights. The best advice I received?

“Continue to disrupt the industry, make it greater and greater.”

That’s exactly what I intend to do.

Walking Away with Gratitude and Direction

This event wasn’t just about learning, it was about gaining confidence in what we are building. I walked in unsure of what to expect, and I walked out feeling more at peace with Perry Design’s future.

I’m deeply grateful for:

✔️ The connections made—with people who inspire and uplift this industry.

✔️ The knowledge gained—which I can now share with fellow creatives.

✔️ The opportunity to grow—as a business owner and as a part of this incredible community.

What’s Next for Perry Design?

While I can’t reveal everything just yet, let’s just say, we have some big things up our sleeves. One thing I can share? Awards will be a major focus moving forward. The APA Expo confirmed that this is where Perry Design belongs.

Looking Ahead: Next Year & Advice for Fellow Entrepreneurs

This experience has been so valuable that I will absolutely be attending next year, and I’m bringing my team with me. Next time, I’ll be focusing even more on business education, industry involvement, and refining our craft.

For anyone considering attending the APA Expo, here’s my advice:

✔️Come with an open mind and open heart.

✔️Never dismiss a technique just because it doesn’t seem like a fit. It could end up being the foundation of your business.

✔️ Invest in learning and networking. The connections and knowledge you gain here are priceless.

This trip to Las Vegas was more than just an expo, it was an affirmation of Perry Design’s mission and a launchpad for what’s to come.

To those who have supported us so far, thank you. We’re just getting started.
